    Instructions to Candidates

    Official TNPSC rules every candidate must follow while applying, writing exams and attending selection procedures.

    1. Notification of Vacancies

    TNPSC announces job vacancies on its official website and newspapers. Candidates must follow the notification carefully before applying.

    2. How to Apply Online

    Register OTR → Apply for each exam separately → Upload photo + signature properly → Pay fees online → Submit before last date. This includes One Time Registration (OTR), uploading photo & signature, Aadhaar linking (mandatory), online application steps, fee payment, correction window, preview option, and final submission rules.

    3. General Eligibility Conditions

    Basic rules such as citizenship, age limits, character, suitability, educational qualification etc.

    4. Special Categories

    Some candidates get special advantages: Destitute widows, Ex-servicemen, Persons with disabilities, Transgender persons etc.

    5. Age Concessions

    TNPSC gives age relaxations for: SC / ST / MBC / BC, Destitute widows, Persons with disability, Ex-servicemen etc.

    6. Fee Concession

    Certain categories get exam fee exemption (fully/partly), based on community, gender, disability, etc.

    7. Reservation

    TNPSC follows Tamil Nadu reservation policy in: communities, women, persons with disability, ex-servicemen, sports quota etc.

    8. Minimum Educational Qualification

    Basic requirement = SSLC pass or above depending on post.

    9. Technical Qualification

    Some posts require: Diploma, Degree, Professional qualification, Technical certificates.

    10. Qualification in Tamil

    Candidates should be able to read & write Tamil OR pass a Tamil eligibility test in TNPSC.

    11. Other Conditions

    Rules about: character, conduct, criminal cases, previous debarment etc.

    12. Debarment

    You will be permanently banned if you: cheat, impersonate, give wrong details, fake certificates, misbehave in exam hall.

    13. Certificate Verification

    You must upload/produce original certificates when asked. If anything is fake/incorrect, your selection is cancelled.

    14. Verification of Claims

    TNPSC checks every claim: age, community, qualification, experience etc. False claims = rejection.

    15. Syllabus

    TNPSC publishes syllabus for every examination. Candidates must prepare only as per official syllabus.

    16. Persons with Benchmark Disability

    Special rules about: scribe, extra time, exam help, disability certificate rules.

    17. Instructions in Written Exam

    During exam: do not cheat, follow hall rules, carry proper ID, follow timing, no mobile phones, no gadgets etc. Any misconduct = immediate removal.

    18. Selection Procedure

    TNPSC selection process includes: preliminary exam, main exam, interview/oral test, certificate verification, merit lists.

    19. Counselling

    TNPSC counselling process for final posting based on: merit, reservation, choice of unit/district (if applicable).

    20. Initial Pay

    Salary scale as per Tamil Nadu Government rules for that post.

    21. Probation & Training

    After selection candidates should undergo: training, probation period as per rules.

    22. Communication

    TNPSC will communicate only through: website updates, registered email/SMS. No postal letters.

    23. Annexures

    Formats of certificates and other helpful documents.

    24. Amendments

    Details of changes made to instructions till now.

    Important Warnings

    TNPSC clearly warns:

    • Do NOT trust agents/brokers
    • Do NOT pay money for job
    • Selection is always merit-based

    Final Message

    TNPSC exams are completely merit-based. You must follow all TNPSC rules carefully while applying, writing exams and submitting documents.
